The package says they're good for a baby 10-22lbs, so I dutifully waited until my baby hit the 10lb mark. He's over 14 pounds now, but the Kushies AIOs still leak around the leg holes. We can't seem to get them fasten tightly enough so they don't leak. One time I even fastented them too tightly in my efforts to prevent leaks-- my son screamed bloody murder and I ripped it off as quickly as possible and put him back in a disposable. We'll try again when he gets a little bigger, but they sure don't work for a 14lb baby boy. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
23 of 23 people found the following review helpful: We love the Kushies AIO's! 12/15/2003 We knew as soon as we found out I was pregnant that we were going to use cloth diapers, and shortly thereafter my quest for the perfect diapers began. I tried seperate diapers and covers, and I was less than pleased with how awkward they were to use. I then got a bunch of Kushies AIO's, and am in diaper heaven! Our daughter wore the infant size from about 10 pounds until just last week when we noticed they were rather tight on her thighs, and she is now at 20 pounds...they may fit a baby with slimmer thighs a little longer than they did her, but we have since gotten the toddler size. We use these at night with a seperate liner for added protection, and seldom have leaks, and we use them during the day without a liner, also with very rare leaks. We still use disposables when we are away from home, as our baby bag just isn't big enough for spare cloth diapers and a spare bag for wet/soiled diapers, but quite honestly, we have found that the Kushies AIO's fit better and stop leaks better than most disposables, and they are so much better for the environment too! 4 of 9 people found the following review helpful: Poop Leaks 11/24/2003 Our baby is 8 weeks old, and every time we've had a poop leak, it's been with these diapers. All our other cloth diapers are separate diaper and cover, so I can't say whether the problem is the Kushies AIOs, or AIOs in general. But, whichever it is, a poop leak is a poop leak, and I do NOT recommend these diapers. We've stopped using ours completely. We've been happy with Kissaluvs diapers with Bummis wraps. Thank You. 14 of 14 people found the following review helpful: These are great... but the minimum weight wasn't quite right 10/27/2003 I was excited to pull out my infant sized Kushies for my baby when she hit ten pounds... but to my dismay, they leaked all over the place. Also, my young breastfed baby was pooping constantly, so I was changing her entire outfit every hour b/c of leaks. Ugh. I was afraid the diapers weren't going to work out at all. But then when my baby got to be 13-14 pounds I brought out the Kushies for another chance, and now they work like a dream! Plus, my baby is pooping less often these days, so I'm not changing her as often. But we're really excited about these diapers...I even bought mine used, and even though they have some wear, they are still working great. So, my recommendation is that if the Kushies aren't working out for your baby, wait a few pounds and then give the diapers another chance. I'm really, really happy with them now. Oh, one more thing-- someone complained that the diapers were "wicking" moisture out. I had this problem too, but I wasn't quite fastening the diapers tightly enough around the leg-- play around with how you are fastening the velcro if you have wicking. Thank You. 67 of 67 people found the following review helpful: Fabulous non-leaking cloth AIO! 8/11/2003 For those people who have leaks and excessive dryer time -- do not use dryer sheets, anti-static dryer sheets cause a protective film to cover the diapers making absorbency almost impossible and causing the flannel to not dry as quickly. You need to follow the directions as with any product, to ensure the items work correctly. --------- Wow, what a great cloth diaper. These work wonderfully on my daughter (started using them at 6wks still using at 5 mos) and we have tried several others that didn't, including; dappi, sweet cheeks, fuzzi bunz and pre-folds. The Kushie AIO (All-In-One) comes in the following sizes: Preemie (2-4 lbs. / 1-2 kg) Newborn (4-10 lbs. / 2-4 kg) Infant (10-22 lbs. / 4-10 kg) Toddler (22-45 lbs. / 10-22 kg) (Babies R'Us sells infant and toddler sizes) Babies R'Us only sells gender neutral prints in packages of 5 at this time, but Kushies does offer plain white and gender specific singles as well. There are no diaper covers required (or needed) as the diaper has a wonderful waterproof exterior and a super soft, 5 layer absorbable flannel interior. It also has an attached flannel flap for extra absorbency. If you use the additional Kushie flannel liners (sold seperately) along with your diaper, it makes it even more absorbable! And adding a strip of flushable liner (sold seperately) on top of all that makes cleanup a breeze! The best thing in my opinion is that none of these extras make the diaper any bulkier, just more efficient and less messy. And I love that my baby doesn't have a drenched bottom when I change her... she's even less wet with the Kushie than she was with disposables! Washing has been great, I just soak the diaper in baking soda, dump the bucket with soda water into the wash and spin it out. I add a TINY amount of regular detergent and a cup of baking soda and wash them again. You can dry them in a machine dryer but I found that they shrink a little bit the first time and I know line drying is better for any kind of clothing. So I recommend line drying if you can. Anything lasts longer that way. Be sure to order from Babies R'Us so we can keep the diapers in stock and let your staff know if you want other Kushies diaper products so they'll know to start stocking more items!
