REPEATED PROBLEMS

I bought this as a replacement for an old Dell model & this unit has caused me headaches in synching with my computer. It takes a LONG TIME to synch--often needing to delete all Outlook data and start from scratch. Now it doesn't synch at all--and I can't figure out why. It also has problems displaying Word files. I need to convert to simple text files in order to display them.

Good graphics, good battery life and reliable operation. I use it as a backup GPS with terrain avoidance in my airplane and this thing does a great job running the software. I hooked it up to the GPS through a Bluetooth GPS antenna and get flawless performance.

Also good for a laptop replacement when you don't need a laptop to carry along. I can get to the sites I need and the Asus works like it was made to connect.

Great machine that beats the other two PDAs I've tried.

I have owned an ASUS A626 since May of 2008. Overall I have been pleased with its performance. It shipped with the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade and I added a 2 GB SD card.

As a student pharmacist, I use my PDA as an electronic reference and currently have Thomson ClinicalXpert, Dynamed, Archimedes, and Clinical Pharmacology On Hand loaded. The A626 has not had any problems running any of those applications, and the WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities are handy.

The one issue that has been ongoing (and fairly annoying) is with the touch screen: it requires frequent realignment. After initial purchase, my A626 worked flawlessly for the first 6-weeks, then the touch screen stopped responding. Attempts to navigate to the systems tab with the controls on the device's face were unsuccessful, and, long story short, my PDA was inop for about 6 days. Email communications with ASUS went round about, with no obvious solution achieved. Eventually my device resumed functioning on its own, but has required frequent screen alignments (i.e. several times a day) ever since.

This ASUS PDA has proven to be a solid performer. This was purchased to replace a much older PDA. It is easy to use, and I am completely satisfied.

It works in a decent form. Like other people said, the wi-fi coverage is poor compared with a laptop, but it connects. Sometimes in my wireless router the connection is interrumpted without reason, but after a while it runs again. I updated to the last OS version provided by Asus (unfortunately not in spanish)and after that the messenger stops to work. So I must connect trough the internet page. It surf the web well, considering the size of the screen. I wanted it to being connected when I'm abroad, and with such a lot of places with wi-fi available now, is usefull for me. Of course, it always depends the needs you have.
