Countdown to Final Crisis VOL 01 (Countdown to Final Crisis)
Do Yourself a Favor...
...and try DC's prior weekly series "52" by star writers Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, Mark Waid and Greg Rucka. "52" follows one year in the lives of various third tier DC characters (Black Adam, The Question, Detective Renee Montoya, Doc Magus, The Elongated Man (yes, he IS cool), all of whom have fascinating arcs. Alas, COUNTDOWN, for whatever reason, is not very effective: loose, at times rando

Auschwitz: A Doctor's Eyewitness Account
not good for leading a happy life
The problem with this book is that it thrusts a very negative and dark side of life into all that read it. Of course the book carries factual data that needs to be known- but we all must be careful about how obsessed we become with the darkness of humanity. Reading books like this keep the holocaust with us. We continue to persecute ourselves every time we re-live the sadness and desperation th

The Other Boleyn Girl
Utterly sleep inducing.
I just don't see what the big deal is. I received this book as a gift and sat down to read it one night. It nearly put me to sleep so I set it aside and decided to come back to it the next day. Same thing happened. The story is slow moving and I found myself skipping ahead to see if it got better. It didn't. I would not suggest this book to anyone.

My Freshman Year: What a Professor Learned by Becoming a Student
Incredibly informative
This book is inceribly informative - if you've never met, been, heard of or seen a college student. I suppose if you've spent 20 years living in a remote village on another continent you might find some of this interesting.
"Nathan" violates professional standards and common decency to discover such shocking things as: students relish independence and like to have fun, foreign studen

Data Modeling Made Simple: A Practical Guide for Business & Information Technolo
Terrible book. Don't waster your money. Seriously.
The word "pain" comes to mind when reading this book. I was
looking forward to find out what a "master" data modeler might have
to say and the knowledge imparted. I was disappointed within the first
couple of pages. The second huge word that comes to mind right
from the start is "confusion". Unless you are a database guru
you will find the explanations in the book

Millennials Rising: The Next Great Generation
Millenials Rising Outdated
I awaited my copy of "Millenials Rising:The Next Great Generation" with great anticipation not realizing that the publication date was 2000. So much has happened in the world since then, including 9/11 and the wars in Afganistan and Iraq, that I am certain that much of the findings are no longer valid.
Certainly, failing to check the publication date is my fault. I just want to

Piece of JUNK !!!
There is nothing in the CD. Too basic and cheap music. The tips provided are few and very basic. After reading You the Owners Manual, this is just plain junk.
I think the authors are trying their best to publish as much as possible. . . too bad they will loose out. I am not buying anything from these guys now.
How can get a refund !!

Home to Holly Springs (Father Tim, Book 1)
Hugely disappointing
Jan Karon's Mitford series, so full of sweetness and simple charm, has been one of my all-time favorite "comfort reads" for many years. As such, I had high hopes for her new "Father Tim" series. What a disappointment! She seems to have decided to get serious, moving away from the predictable, but delightful, formula of the Mitford stories, and attempting to delve deeper into psychological drama; a

Sustainable Energy: Choosing Among Options
pretty useless book
Unfortunately, I bought this book for a class before realizing that I could have managed just as well by getting all the information that I needed from the internet and saving myself $70. The book lacks depth and could have been better organized. Having already some knowledge about sustainability and energy issues, I found that I could more efficiently answer any questions I had about sustainable

Prayer: A Holy Occupation
A Disappointment
First of all, I agree with the critical comments made by Mr. Ellis in his review, here.
Additionally, if you're looking for a book about prayer with an abundance of scriptures, forget it: In this book there are none whatsoever. Though the author makes a loose reference to them on a few occasions, no exact Biblical quotes or scriptural references are provided. As a result, I was sadly

This book gets 1 star because I don't know how to review witout giving at least one. What happened to Patterson? He was never a deep writer, never will, I hope, rank as a writer of American classiscs, but this is far below his usual medocrity. Maybe it's the second author; maybe she is really the ghost writer of this novel.
Besides the plot being almost non-existent, the characters

Think for YOURSELF! Question EVERYTHING.
One of many books that can be considered backlash as a result of people beginning to think for themselves and say no to govt. forced vaccinations. Destiny of Souls: New Case Studies of Life Between Lives
Not worth the time or money.
Whatever you want to believe in, he has found a way to weave it into the story so that no one's beliefs are challenged. He even finds a way to make fairies real!
I find it hard to believe that souls which are supposedly made of energy, require buildings and gardens to live in, in the after-life. The subjects in this book describe the place souls go after death, as a large university w

There's a reason why there is no "Search Inside" feature for this book...in my opinion. This thing is a train-wreck.
