Not fast enough

My Canon Digital Elph from 2005 has a slightly faster shutter speed. I like to catch action, and although this camera takes incredibly better photos than my Elph, the frames per second are severely lacking for 5 years later if you want to continuous shoot and get some action shots.
It's a bit big and the battery does not last as long as my 2005 camera either.
I did return it, just waiting for my refund.

Fast, great images. Excellent Zoom!

Title says it all.

Only drawback is that it does not have a viewfinder so you cannot conserve battery by turning off the LCD.

this camera takes amazing pics, the super zoom is wonderful and crystal clear, the numerous functions/settings make picture taking even more enjoyable!

Produces high quality pictures, wonderful colors and I never had any problem with this camera.

I got this as a gift from my father last November. I'm using this until now and so far I have never encountered any problem with it. Picture quality is superb! I even have some pictures which can be mistakenly taken by a DSLR. I especially love how I can set the settings manually (such as the focus, aperture, shutter speed and color)and the great number of features I can choose from! Recording video is really not bad considering I am using a device which mainly functions as a camera and not as a camcorder so I suggest you don't complain about it at all. With proper lighting, video quality could be really great. When it is dark though, of course the result would be grainy, as any other video camera or camera (on the same price range) would result to.

One great feature is the panoramic shots you can create using photostitch, a software included when you buy the camera. You can merge 3 or more photos into one using this and it is very user friendly too!

I highly recommend that you buy this camera and try it out for yourself. It is great for people who want to try photography as a hobby but wouldn't really want to invest too much on it. It will give you a great and hassle-free experience!

Good but could use a better lens

I was very excited to get this camera. I've had Canon products in the past that I've loved, and I was especially excited for the 12x optical zoom. I've had it for 6 months now and must say I'm not as pleased as I'd hoped to be. The photo quality is ok, but my old SD 600 with 3x optical zoom and a Zeiss lens had MUCH more crisp pictures. This camera also seems to have trouble focusing at times, even when it's not zoomed out. I do enjoy the wide angle lens, and the zoom has gotten me many shots that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. But really I'm overall dissatisfied because I want my pictures to be more crisp, and it's just not happening no matter how hard I try.
