I was looking forward to reading this third book that was supposed to end the trilogy. Figured it isn't, but I am still disappointed that the story line was very slow paced and even boring at times. I don't really need Roran's stories every other chapter, and the story's getting real predictable. Bo

Requires 2 "AA" alkaline batteries (not included).
Build buggy-eyed motor-powered creations that move with this 100-piece set. It includes motor and hand control (with forward/reverse switch), gears, springs, connecting blocks, two claws, and three eyeballs. Starting with the motor pack, add the pieces together according to the instructions or follow your own mad scientist ideas to create endless mayhem. Can be used alone or with other Gears! Gears! Very imaginative toy

My boys are 3 and 6, and both will play with this toy for hours (alone and with their friends). We dump the pieces out on the living room floor and my husband and I have to make the boys put it away! The gears are really brightly colored but the motorized remote control piece is what really captivates the kids. I am looking forward to purchasing more gears to go with this set so we can make some really complex creations, and also have two remotes. The only complaint I have with this toy is the sticker sheet that comes with the set -- the stickers have not been stamped out of the sheet, so you literally have to cut them out with scissors, and then cut a hole in each one so you can attach gears without the sticker in the way. This is a real pain. It would have been so easy to fix. Otherwise, a great invention!
