European Car
Good Magazine.
Good mag, but not great like Automobile magazine. A little rah-rah for my tastes, but does a good job covering some excellent European cars.

Southern Living (1-year)
"I Can Read More Than One Page"
I have bought Southern Living Magazines for years but there is a irritating trend in all magazine publications and Southern Living is no exception. Most articles are one page, really less. With photos and ads, most are 4 paragraphs or less. Its like the American Public is all ADHA and the publishers think we can't concentrate any longer than that. If I take the time to look at each page of th

The New Yorker (1-year)
Cancel Your Subscription?
**I've taken a drubbing over this review, but I won't delete it yet. My friend Jeffrey tells me the NY cover was intended in exactly the same spirit as my adoption of Hussein as a middle name. As anyone can see, I've been slammed by friends and strangers in the comments below. My wife wants her next week's New Yorker on schedule or my neck id in the noose. Fine. Probably I overreacted. Body + Soul
Body and soul.....
This magazine has a nice look but I found it to be lacking in a whole lot of knowledge that I could use. I am not sure what the soul part represents. There is alot of new age ideas and organic articles but to be honest I am a little disappointed with this magazine.

Cooking light....
A wonderful magazine with lots of articles about food trends and how to lighten your recipes. The only downfall of course is all the advertisng. Some months I collect quite a few recipes others I toss aside with nothing special.

Come on Amazon! Cut us a break!
$30 for a subscription saving 40%? This is such blatant false advertising! Anyone can get a subscription from the publisher direct for $26.95. Easy searching online can get you better than that from wholesale magazine distributors. This is pathetic.
And of course, I agree with everyone else, this is an awesome magazine. I am only criticizing Amazon here.

Entertainment Weekly (6-month)
OK Mag Lots of Filler
I like this magazine. It is not bad but I have a big complaint with it. It is and has always been full of filler. I know it is a weekly so they have to put some content in it but it has way too many 'Lists'. They fill an entire magazine with 'The Top 100' this or 'The Top 100' that. And then a legend like Richard Widmark or Dan Fogelberg dies and they give them a tiny picture and a couple of sente

Money [1-year]
(Easy) Money
Not real bright on financial matters? Need commen-sense broken down into even simplier terms? Then, this magazine is for you. Written by what I suspect are a bunch of journalism graduates in New York City with no idea about what they are writting, living in New York City (a stupid idea on writer's salary), I am ashamed to say that I will continue subscribing just to see the monthly picture of th

Family Handyman
Was thinking about subscribing ....until
I bought a copy of the April 2008 issue of Family Handyman at the store the other day and was impressed with the nice tips on home improvement projects. It is a fairly inexpensive magazine with detailed articles and photographs geared toward the average homeowner with basic skills. I was thinking about subscribing until I was flipping through the ads and got hit with one of those pesky Better Sex

The Strand
Too Little and Very Late
I was very disappointed with my first issue of "The Strand." Very few stories, a couple of interviews and the rest was book reviews. For the price of the magazine and the fact that is a quarterly, it is a very sparse magazine. Although beautiful to look at and easy to read, there just isn't enough substance between the front and back covers.
My biggest disappointment was not with the magazin

Love the magazine, hate the delivery through amazo
The magazine is Vogue, you know what you're getting into there and you either love it or hate it. Personally I love it!
My issue is that when I ordered it through Amazon, it took FOREVER to get my first copy! I got the last month's issue...the current month's issue came in the middle of the month! I still havent received THIS month's issue, which is very annoying. I could've j

New York Review Of Books
Good reviews but some seriously foolish pontificat
The New York Review of Books is somewhat of a mixed bag. If you have objections to pretentious pundits passing judgment on anything that comes their way, or are irritated by insipid intellectualia, there will be something in every issue to drive you crazy. But if you can get past that, you'll find some high quality writing about some of the most important new ideas out there.

Shape
Average
This magazine is only average. It have a few good exercises, but just cycle the same routines over and over. It is worth getting a Dec or Jan issue where they give you a bit more meat as far as fitness.
Filled with more clothing and makeup tips than fitness. It is okay and a quick read. I don't find myself saying "wow I need to keep this as a reference."
