$30 for a subscription saving 40%? This is such blatant false advertising! Anyone can get a subscription from the publisher direct for $26.95. Easy searching online can get you better than that from wholesale magazine distributors. This is pathetic.

I know it is a weekly so they have to put some content in it but it has way too many 'Lists'. They fill an entire magazine with 'The Top 100' this or 'The Top 100' that. I bought a copy of the April 2008 issue of Family Handyman at the store the other day and was impressed with the nice tips on home improvement projects. It is a fairly inexpensive magazine with detailed articles and photographs geared toward the average homeowner with basic skills. I was very disappointed with my first issue of "The Strand." Very few stories, a couple of interviews and the rest was book reviews. For the price of the magazine and the fact that is a quarterly, it is a very sparse magazine. Although beautiful to look at and easy to read, there just isn't enough substance between the front and back covers.

This magazine is only average. It have a few good exercises, but just cycle the same routines over and over. It is worth getting a Dec or Jan issue where they give you a bit more meat as far as fitness.
