My wife uses this daily. She has acid reflux and it helps her clear her throat.

After taking this I was up for three hours with a hard heart beat, hot/cold flashes. Hallucinations, gas, chest pain, diarrhea this lasted for over 24 hours an i only took one pill. I am 5'7 and 240 I thought I was having a heart attack.

The best otc decongestant!

I use this product every day for help with asthma. I live in an area where this is a common problem. Also helps with colds and allergies. Really helps to thin out mucus and stop coughing.

No effect

I have tried this a couple of times in the past year with absolutely no effect. I coughed just as much with it as without, and had no more productive coughing than I did without it. So neither the expectorant nor the cough suppressant seem to work. I didn't experience any side effects either, as some reviews have noted. My current cough is the result of recovering from thyroid surgery and a respiratory infection that has been quelled with antibiotics. Now I have a lingering cough.

I really like this stuff. It thins out the mucous so it come out more easily, and doesn't keep sliding down my throat, yuck! It is also wonderful because it suppresses the dry non productive cough. I am very sensitive to medications, and I can take this medication with no side effect. Even Dayquil gives me all sorts of problems and puts me to sleep. It also takes away my sinus pressure and pain without pain relievers. I'm so glad to finally find a product that is effective with no side effects.

I have to wonder if some the negative reviewers may be reviewing the Mucinex-D, which has pseudo-ephedrine. I can't take anything with that ingredient or it gives me severe problems (heart racing, foggy head, nausea, general ill feeling etc). Mucinex DM is wonderful.
