Samson Servo 200 Professional Power Amplifier

This amp has a cooling fan, unlike the Alesis amp I was replacing. Fans make noise, and noise is bad.

Dunlop The Original Crybaby Pedal
"old stand-by"
I'm a little disappointed that effect is soo dramatic on the muffled (bass) side I like the way it screams (cry) on the top end compared to the Morely. Looking for a less suppressed and linear pedal.

Matrix MPU2 Clip-On Tuner Microphone
Cord is not long enough for a harp
I am a harp student and have used this with a Sabine MT9000 chromatic tuner. It has helped me greatly with accuracy and speed when tuning, as described. However, I feel that this should be advertised for use with other instruments, such as violins, cellos, etc. I found the cord to be far too short for even a smaller lever harp, and it required me to constantly hold it up with one hand as I was

Korg MA-30 Ultra Compact Digital Metronome
Wanted a click metronome
I bought this based on at least two other reviews that described the sound it makes as a "click". It is not a click it is a high pitched electronic "beep". That beep gets lost with notes played by guitar, etc. It also could be louder so I took two stars off for these two drawbacks. Otherwise it keeps time like it is supposed to. Look elsewhere if you wanted a click sound metronome.

Zoom H2 Handy Portable Stereo Recorder
Nice thing
This is a pretty good thing. Put a big chip in it for best utility. No speakers. gotta use earphones. Tiny letters on the visual display panel, not so good for 60 y.o. + people like me. Put on your glasses. Nice to record the church choir rehearsals. Then just download the file to your computer and email it out to members who can practice with it at home.

MXL 990 Condenser Microphone with Shockmount
Too muddy. For $50 more you can get so much bette
I had this mic for one day, which was enough time for me to put it through its paces for my use: voice-over work. Unfortunately, this mic didn't have the presence I was looking for in a condenser microphone, and the mids were far too muddy. I couldn't EQ them out with my basic 4-channel audio board + phantom power. Garbage in = garbage out. I returned the mic to the store about 24 hours later

Casio SA75 Keyboard with Headset Microphone
O K.....B U T ....N O T....A .... P E R F O R M A
The Casio SA75 Keyboard with microphone is light, and has 100 different
musical tones. It's 37 keys are just big enough for using right hand, (melody), and left hand, (harmony), together. The different tones can put the budding composer into different moods...trying the same song on a "church organ", and on a "music box", can give a very different feeling to the music! Sound Number 60, th

Ernie Ball Earthwood 80/ 20 Bronze Rock & Blues Acoustic String Set, (10 - 52)
A little too slinky...
I mistakenly bought these, but a buyer should know that the G string is NOT wound. I bought the same Ernie Ball 80/20's with the wound G with an little E of 12 (live and learn). Those sound great.

PreSonus FireBox 6X10 Firewire Recording Interface
didn't work well with my PC
I got this with a set of studio speakers. It did not cooperate with windows and was not very easy to set up. Setting it up to run with Reason was another story and I was not successful.
I have seen live DJ's use this with Apple laptops and they say it works great with it's Zero-latency feature.

ProLine Guitar Stand, Black
No Nitro Finishes!
This stand came with a sticker informing me that the foam rubber would damage nitrocellulose finishes. Well, since that's what my guitar's have, it would have really been nice to see that in the description so I didn't waste my money on it.
Other than that complaint, it's a guitar stand that's stable and does the job it's supposed to. If you have a lacquer finished guitar look elsewhe

M-Audio StudioPro 3 Desktop Audio Monitors
Good Starter Speakers
I bought these speakers for professional studio use but I find they dont have enough deep bass. I you want deep bass you would want to add a sub- woofer. In addition to the bass, you have to watch you dont blow the tweeters. After three days of usage, I found I blew the right tweeter. If you're looking for heavy duty professional speakers these are not the ones to buy. However, these speakers

Crescent 38" Blue Cutaway Acoustic Guitar with Gig Bag and Accessories
Decent for beginner but get better one for long te
I recently decided to learn guitar and thought about teaching myself at home. Bought this guitar through Amazon.com after looking at some decent reviews on it and saw that the price is unbeatable. I like the fact that it is small and lightweight, and that it comes with a set of accessories, but I found it hard to tune. I would play a song that would sound 'right' going up the scale but sound 'off'

Numark DM1050 2 Channel 8'' Scratch Mixer
DM1050
i got this mixer as a gift, 2 years ago. its a very good entry level mixer, but beyond that, its useless. within 3 days the crossfader began to bleed through, and 4 or 5 days after that it became completely unresponsive. ive had it rebuilt twice only to have the same thing happen within days. ive resorted to using the volume sliders to fade and the line switches to cut, for the past year or so. if

Q-Mic QM-50 Professional Studio Mic Arm
China=bleck
I'm not saying anything bad about the people who spoke before me.. but i have to say this isn't a great studio arm. It is very light which is a pro i guess, but it doesn't feel very sturdy, but i suppose its sturdy enough to hold my microphone. The microphone clip is not designed for my microphone.. nor any microphone i've held in the past 10 years... It appears it is right for... an extra large h

M-Audio Keystation 88ES Midi Controller
Disappointed
I didn't expect to come to a software so confusing, so I haven't been able to upload sounds on to the machine. Now, that I have already opened the software, I may have to sell this and drop the price, because it says that it can be installed onto only one machine. It does look nice and feel nice and it was a good price when I purchased it, so I just hope that someone will buy it and can make it wo

Yamaha DD55CAD Touch-Sensitive Digital Drums with AC Adapter
It plays great, but cymbals cut out early...
It plays great! I use it, plus a predecessor of it, at my brother's place, in band practice.
My only complaint about it is that, when I am playing, and use the "crash cymbals" for emphasis, then keep playing, the "crash" almost immediately cuts out. I don't think "The predecessor" cuts out like this.
(I can't remember the number, but it is a Yamaha. I got it at Cost

Tascam 414MKII PortaStudio
per the 4 track and the 8 track
I do recommend this for it's ease of use- it's portable- it's tough- and awesome to have to record ideas for songs and be your own amatuer producer; I admit I have had a lot of fun with this one and the upgrade (note tapes from this do not play on the 8 track); I've had a lot of great ideas transferred onto this thing and with cheap add ons like effects pedals etc. you can do a lot..
