This camera is unremarkable in its output, but is rich in features. It makes a good traveling camera, but if you decide on it, I'd set the image compensation to +1. Set at zero, the images tend to lack contrast and rich saturation. This is true with most cameras, both digital and print. The extra bo

It's easy to see why this drill was rated a 2006 "best buy" by a leading consumer magazine. Impressively compact, lightweight, and comfortable to use, Panasonic's 15.6-volt drill/driver fits into tight spaces where other bulkier drills won't. The 3-1/2 amp NiMH batteries deliver remarkable run time per charge, which is a big plus, especially if you need a tool for continuous use. What about power? This Panasonic packs up to 390 inch-pounds of torque--as much (if not more) than anyone needs in a cordless tool. The motor's speed control allows full torque at any speed, so you can apply full torque while still maintaining control.

The tool features dual speed ranges of 65 to 450 and 200 to 1,450 rpm. The 1/2-inch chuck takes bigger bits. The first thing you notice about this tool, however, is how compact it is (the chassis measures only 8-1/2 inches) and how comfortable it feels in your hand. The soft-pad grip provides extra cushion and the tool's balance is superb, two important features if you wield a cordless day in and day out. The tool lacks an onboard bit holder, but that's about all it lacks. The 3-1/2 amp batteries are ventilated, so they last longer, delivering up to 1,200 charges and recharges.

This drill is a smart buy for plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and even woodworkers--in short, anyone who wants a small, compact drill that packs a lot of torque and is built to last. The package includes a 55-minute universal charger and hard-plastic carrying case. --Jon Groebner

Panasonic cordless drill
9/6/2008
This is my second Panasonic cordless drill. My first one stood up to 9 years of professional abuse including falls from scaffolding. I am very pleased with the size, weight, power, and features of this tool. I'm very happy with the performance of the NiMH batteries. I would highly recommend this tool to any serious cabinetmaker or woodworker.

I thought I had a Good Drill Until the Batteries Died...
8/22/2008
I bought this drill two years ago and I was a big fan of its excellent balance, weight, and build quality. The RPM's were fair and the chuck was difficult to tighten, but it was a pleasure to use. I was also blown away at the lasting power of the 3.5 Ah batteries, that is until they recently stopped working after only 10-15 minutes of moderate use. Most reviews probably don't capture this problem because most were written within the first year. I really liked the drill but I am extremely disappointed in the battery life. I am kicking myself for not following the advice from the few reviews that warned of this battery life problem. I no longer believe this was just bad luck.

Different drills tested.
8/17/2008
I have owned this drill for 18 months and am absolutely impressed with its torc, battery life and compact feel. Where I work we use Bosch, Makita and Rigid cordless drills. We work these drills very hard screwing/drilling into sheet metal. The Rigid drills have not held up but the other two are work horses. Most of the higher end drills are pretty damn good but wont last like a corded drill so if they are used hard they will fail. My point being it ultimately comes down to repair/warranty service and the Bosch has the best turn around time as far as replacement/repair. I haven't worked by Panasonic quite as hard as what we use at work nor have I had to replace it. I would agree that the Panasonic chuck is slightly fussier centering small bits but it seems to grip them a little better as I don't have the slippage that I have noticed on the other drills.

The NiMH or LiON batteries are the only way to go with the LiON batteries being lighter. For fit and feel from a guy who uses these drills the Panasonic is best followed by Makita. For general home use most name brand drills will do you fine so it then becomes about price and fit. I bought the Panasonic based on research and am very happy with it. The Panasonic does seem more solid than the other drills but I can't give them an equal comparison on durability because we don't have them at work yet but I am trying.

Panasonic EY6432GQKW 15.6-volt Cordless Drill
8/12/2008
I have never written a review before but I want to expound on what all the other writers have said. I have owned mine since March of 2007 and I couldn't be happier! I am not in the trades but my son-in-law is an electrician and he told me about this drill. I have flopped two decks with it and that's about 3,000- 3" screws. I can't count the number of landscape timbers I have bored holes in with this tool! It is comfortable to hold and the batteries last a very long time. I also have the Pansonic 12-volt N-cad model for lighter duty work. I don't really know about the Lithum Ion batteries on tools now but who cares! When you have these two tools, it doesn't make any difference. These are still going strong and I use one or the other almost everyday! If you want corded, go with the Milwaukee 0234-6....plain and simple! You get what you pay for!
