Great Service - a Lifeline

1/11/2010

Greetings,
I needed a device for my elderly aunt who kept having her phone disconnected for some reason or the other. I got this device setup with a yahoo email account and my aunt was off to the races emailing and "conversing" with her high school classmates and church buddies.
Best of all it prevented 20 voice mails a day :) checkin' in. Instead it's much more fun to email 20 times a day.
She had to quit sewing after 50 years but still can manage the keyboard on this device and gets along fine.
The folks at Peek have been great. I mailed it in for a software upgrade and they updated for free and mailed it back in a reasonable period of time and at no charge for return shipping.
Ashley in the Phoenix, AZ office was extremely polite, professional, had excellent product knowledge and handled my customer inquiry flawlessly. A better call center representative you will not find.
Now my aunt has a communication device while being snowed in and is not lonely any more. Before she knew it - she had joined the digital age - and embraced it. All because she was willing to Peek into the future.

Best Regards,

Charles R. Smith

Terrible Product

11/14/2009

Besides the service being way overpriced, it's slow and takes forever to download. It also downloads all of your email, even that which should have been cleared from the server. Do yourself a favor and avoid Peek.

Quick, cheap e-mail on the go

8/27/2009

I bought a Peek because I need access to e-mail on the go, but I can't see paying $30 per month for a data plan from my cellphone carrier. I upgraded to the Pronto firmware for free, which let me load all my e-mail accounts and gives me unlimited texting on top of that. Since I buy service in 3-month chunks, it costs about $17 per month.

I set up a ping.fm account so I can update Twitter from my Peek, and maybe the best thing about it is that I can quickly check my e-mail without getting trapped in the time-suck that is the Web.

Exactly what I needed.... and GREAT customer service

8/23/2009

I searched for weeks for a text only solution to keep in touch with my young out-of-state granddaughters who text constantly. Cell phone providers didn't offer anything remotely near the monthly price ($19.99 tops if paid month-by-month, $15 if you pay for more time) of the Peek. I bought mine outside of Amazon for $15, sent it to customer service for the software update which brings it up to the same service of the new $60 Peek; and in exactly 7 days got a new Peek back, with an explanation that they'd done a routine check on the device and found a problem; they replaced it and credited the month of service I'd already paid for. Great keyboard, easiest texting I've tried; EASY start-up and my gmail account has been coming into the Peek with no delays and no problems. I had a question and wrote customer service and got an answer back within a couple of hours. Best price in the world for a no-phone, text-email only solution and EXCELLENT customer service. The Peek is exactly what I needed and what no cell service provider was interested in providing.
