Fast HDTV... Great price! 6/24/2008 After doing some price comparison's with Best Buy, Pacific Sales, Circuit City, ebay, and Amazon.com... Amazon.com came out on top. The perfect TV for me 6/23/2008 The picture quality of this TV is incredible! I watched a few DVDs right when I got it, and the TV actually made me feel like I was IN the action! There is almost no action blur and the picture is so detailed that you can see the specific definition and different colors in a marble floor in a movie. The touch of red color has been a conversation starter for most of our guests. It's so subtle that people have to go up and touch the TV to make sure their eyes aren't playing tricks. The only drawbacks that I can think of is the fact that the picture-in-picture is for different inputs only, so you can't watch 2 different TV shows at a time, and that the only input slot that works for the 3-prong connections (yellow, red, and white) is on the left side of the TV and not the back. Even with these insignificant issues, I couldn't be happier with this TV. Also, I saw that it was listed as the "Staff Favorite" TV at Sears yesterday, so I must not be alone in my opinion! Fantastic TV 6/22/2008 Very pleased with this television. I was a little nervous about the "touch of color" not having seen the set in person prior to purchasing it. However, now that I have it in front of me I'd have to say that the very faint color of red around the edge really adds a premium look to the set. I couldn't be happier with the picture and honestly I wouldn't expect anything less from Samsung. If I had a single complaint about any component of the set I guess it'd be with the remote. While it's intuitive and very easy to use, it looks as though it was designed for someone who's almost completely blind... Honestly, if your vision is so poor that you need the buttons on your remote that large, what are you doing buying a high-def TV anyway? I guess the over-sized button design would also favor the "fat fingered" viewer as well. And who knows, with the amount of time I'm sure to be spending in front of this thing, the "fat finger design" might just come in handy. Hope that helps, I'm gonna go for a jog now... Thank You. Very Satisfied 6/22/2008 I did a lot of research before settling on the Samsung 46-inch A650, and it has lived up to expectations in nearly all respects. Excellent picture, flexible mounting stand, quick changes between channels. The remote is a little touchy when changing between sources, but you quickly get used to that. One thing I have not seen mentioned is that it (and perhaps other newer models) has somewhat limited inputs for "legacy" equipment. There are four HDMI inputs, but if you have equipment that doesn't have HDMI outputs you can only connect a few (sorry don't have the exact number with me). May not be a problem for some people, but was a close call for me. Otherwise I'm very satisfied... the great price and free delivery from Amazon was a nice bonus. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
On the verge of buying this from Amazon--one major concern/question 6/22/2008 I know this isn't exactly a proper review, but I didn't know how else to approach it. I have been astounded by the picture on theLN46A650 every time I've seen it in stores. All the raves are true. I have one major concern--perhaps someone can give me their experience/feedback? I have several significant sources of light in the viewing area (including a big window behind where you sit--unavoidable) and I'm worried about the Samsung's new glossy/reflective screen. I know it makes the picture look that much better, but I always figured i'd be safe with a matte screen (ala Sony). Is the reflection going to compromise the picture too much?
