I learned a lot! 6/24/2008 Even if you don't like Dr. Ron Paul, or understand where he is coming from, you will like this book if you are interested in history or constitutional law. I wasn't sure what to expect, the title was a bit scary to me to be honest. However, within 5 minutes I was enjoying the audiobook, which is well recorded and read. There's lots of history and stories about constitutional law cases. I learned a lot about the constitution and the current political climate. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
Must read before 2008 election 6/23/2008 This is an excellent synopsis of Ron Paul's views on major issues of the day. Even though he's dropped out of the presidential race, he gives constitutional viewpoints as they pertain the the most important issues of the day, like civil liberties, the economy, and our foreign policy. It's short and concise, but his reading list is extensive if you want more in-depth explanations and examinations of any of the topics presented. Unfortunately, it leaves me with absolutely no faith in either major party candidate for this election, but hopefully, if enough people read this book, we can have a "revolution" in which a third party - that holds to our founders' vision of this nation - can stand a chance against the two major parties that have both fallen from the founders' ideals. The Revolution 6/23/2008 This book shows how massive intervention by government into the free market has caused the problems we now have. Ron Paul shows how we can return to a competitive free market system by weaning us away from government intervention and excessive and unconstitutional regulation. He projects a future of unrivaled freedom and prosperity that we can achieve by placing government within the limits defined by our Constitution. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
A Rare Perspective 6/23/2008 This book is absolutely amazing! Ron Paul has some insights that are either hard to find, or unspoken. His opinions on American relations with other countries are astounding and NEVER heard from in the media. If we followed many of his plans, our nation would be far more secure, with little to fear from attacks like we had on Sep. 11th 2001. Sure his ideas aren't fool-proof. But they follow the constitution closer than any other candidate's plan I've ever heard. This is a wonderful book--very well written and concise (not long at all--an easy read). Just have an open mind while reading it because many of his ideas are radical and very anti-culture. I love it! Thank You. Was this review helpful?
