I didn't have a chance to play Little Big Planet yet but my 2 boys seem to be enjoying the game immensely. The 5-star ratings are theirs, not mine and, below, is my junior's own review. He assumes that everyone has a general idea of what the game is about and how it's played so you'll only get his

The opening shot is of downtown New York City. Only these aren't normal buildings but towers of blocks of trash. WALL-E (voiced by beeps and Ben Burtt), our hero, is a glorified trash compactor who has made the mountains. As we follow him across the vast landscape, we learn that he is the last of

I'm not sure why all these people are saying that they can't record anything off cable without a box. I have this model, I don't have a cable box, and I record shows all the time. Maybe there's some trick to it?

Hard to beat
3/9/2006
When it came time for us to get a new charcoal grill I searched every site and checked out dozens of different grills, some costing many hundreds of dollars, all promising some advantage.

Some units were really interesting, and not too expensive, but upon close inspection many of these proved to be tinny and cheaply made. The very expensive systems were very nice, but did not offer rotisseries and other useful accessories and were just too expensive for us anyway.

So, we ended up with another Weber, the Gold Model. In the many years since our last Weber, there have been a lot of improvements that kept it attractive. The ash catcher really does make cleanup much easier and the vent system is more functional. The grill itself has the new flip-up hatches that allow you to add more coals and move them around without having to lift up the grill. I did that all the time with the old grill.

The optional little bent-wire style of charcoal retainers do help to keep the coals out to the side when you want to use a drip pan in the center.

Others have recommended the chimney style charcoal start for ecological reasons. It is also just plain faster to use as well, and it is made of heavy gauge metal that is both attractive and long-lasting.

I love the optional rotisserie (see those reviews) and it comes with an extension ring that is also useful for other cooking options.

We got the green colored kettle and it looks very nice on the patio. The general design and those odd white-wall tires give it a kind of vintage look.

This is a well-made and very functional grill with all sorts of interesting available accessories that really work well. There is a reason for the popularity of the Weber. I looked, I bought. Hard to beat.

Sad that BBQ season is over
10/3/2005
After living on my own with just a Smokey Joe grill, I've settled down and managed to upgrade to this model -- I'm so glad I did! I'm very impressed with the heat retention and am able to grill with hot coals for over an hour without having to add any more.

Pros:
1. Surface area! One layer of hot coals lasts over an hour and the last time we used it, we cooked enough food for several meals for four.
2. Ash catcher/removal system. One problem I had with my ol' Smokey Joe was ash and old coals clogging the vents on the bottom. The removal system is a metal thingymadoodle that you manually control to sweep ash into the vents. The ash falls into a catcher, so there's no wind-blown messes. Only problem is that using it too vigorously can cause ash to puff up onto cooking food.
3. Hinged areas on the grill so I can open it up to add more coals if I had wanted to. No need to lift the entire grill off to get more fresh coals on the grill!

Cons:
1. Lid is big, so it can feel kind of heavy to lift up and down a lot. No place to hang it, either, so need a separate accessory or just put it on the ground.
2. I couldn't get my Weber chimney starter to work that well with the grill. I put it on top of the cooking grill and lit the newspaper, but it never really caught on like usual. I don't know if the oxygen demand was too high for the kettle to keep up, even with the vents open? Moving the chimney starter to the concrete patio got it going again.

I'm very pleased with my Weber and would gladly recommend it to somebody in the market for a family-sized charcoal grill!

Great BBQ

This bbq is great. Much better than my old webber, which lasted 10 years. The new one is very easy to clean and adjust the heat.
