EXCELLENT FOR DELL INSPIRON 9100 12/16/2005 I COULDNT FIND A CIGARETTE LIGHTER CHARGER FOR MY DELL INSPIRON 9100,DELL DOSENT MAKE ONE.THE Xantrex Technologies 851-0400 X-Power 400 Power Inverter IS PERFECT IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM IT HAS A CIGARETTE CHARGER AND ALSO DIRECT BATTERY CABLES IN WHICH I DONT NEED TO RUN MY INSPIRON 9100. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Great for my POWER hungry Dell laptop 12/2/2005 I couldn't find a 'factory' DC adapter for my Inspiron 9100. This Dell brick power supply that powers my lapop sucks juice faster than a Hummer. The Xantrex fan comes on only when needed and is moderately quiet when used with my laptop. No sound problems when watching a DVD on the laptop with the fan spinning. Even so, the fan doesn't come on but only 3-4 times during a movie for approx 10 secs. The Xantrex unit gets warm just to know its working, not warm such as it was working hard at all. Nice unit which replaced my 300W Tripp Lite. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
43 of 45 people found the following review helpful: Get the 700 watter 10/24/2005 Real nice unit, but I wish I had bought the Xantrex 700 watt unit instead. For instance, I have a small auto vacuum that need 6 amps. This unit won't handle it. This unit can attach to the cigarette lighter or directly to the battery. The 700 watt unit skips the lighter input -- fine with me but maybe not with you. If you need lighter input then get the 400 watt unit. I will say that the inverter is well built and designed. I like the fact that the power input leads are attached via screw posts. This lets you modify it as needed, for instance if you needed longer leads, you could make your own and not have to kludge it.
