VERY happy after carefully reviewing pos. and neg. feedback

8/5/2010

Read positive and negative feedback. First of all I am German and consider myself a perfectionist. I concluded that people who wrote negative feedback will never be pleased with any product or will always have "the glass is half empty" comment.

There is nothing perfect. Greasy, yes it is greasy. Small children will not mix thoroughly enough, yes that is part of experimenting, failing, trying and with effort becoming an expert. Bracelet is too big, yes perhaps not for a 6 year old but for a 10 or 12 year old it is fine. It is not a Rubber Band therefore its elasticity is limited... again this is not a science fiction Hollywood type product rendered digitally on a screen where everything is possible. If you do not like greasy, do not like experimenting ... get a video game.

This is real stuff. Overall the product is genius. I do have to help my daughter, but this helps the bonding between us. I do the mixing; she does the letters and final steps.

I would recommend this product.

Don't waste your money or time!!!

5/2/2010

My son spent his allowance on this stuff so he could make bracelets for good causes and to give to his family. It never hardened at all. We followed the instructions to a T and read them 3 times to make sure we were doing it correctly as to not waste any. It was horrible. He made 3 items and not one of them hardened. What a waste of his hard earned allowance!!!

It gets one star for anticipation...

1/1/2010

My 6 year-old twins couldn't wait to make the Zubber jewelry that they received as a gift for Christmas. That's the only good thing about this product...the anticipation of creating. Nothing turned out after days of measuring and mixing. What a let down! I'm not usually a cup is half-full kind of person but at least my daughters now aren't as gullible to the advertising directed at them!

Do not waste your money

12/28/2009

My ten year old daughter received this for Christmas and it wasn't worth the packaging they put it in. The zubber was easy to mix and mold but the zubber never set. I also tried several different times mixing it and letting it set to see if the directions were wrong. No matter what I tried the zubber was always soft and wouldn't set. I finally got one semi-set after 5 hours and like the other reviewer said it broke within seconds.

Zubber Bands

12/28/2009

I got this for my little sister for Christmas, and even though I'm 26, I had so much fun with it she began complaining I was going to use all of her zubber! She loves it and we went out and bought all of the other zubber sets marked down after the holidays. I read that other reviews said that the bands snapped on the seam, but I found that by smushing the seam well and kneading it together made the spot just as strong as the rest of the band. Our first couple of tries did break because we didn't make the seam disappear while the clay was still soft, but we were able to fix the broken ones with superglue. Out of about the 20 bracelets we've made so far, only 2 broke, and they were our very first attempts. As for the bracelets being bumpy, you get a tiny rolling pin to make them smooth and we've not really had much trouble with this. She's 8, by the way, and it's easy enough she can do a pretty good job by herself.
