Online Shopping Malls
Online shopping malls have taken the place of brick and mortar malls for many people, not just in America but the world over. Online shopping malls provide the convenience of sitting in your own home, at your own computer, and shopping in hundreds, if not thousands of stores. In fact, many online shopping malls include outlets for the same stores that are found in brick and mortar locations in towns and cities across the US. Staples, Office Depot, The Gap, Target, Wal-Mart, PETsMART, Barnes and Noble, and many other stores that you recognize in the local mall have an online variation, and are present in online shopping malls.
What are you shopping for? Chances are online shopping malls have the items you need at prices you can afford. And these online malls probably not only have the name brands you want, directly from the retailers you trust, but they have many online stories that are strictly web based, and for that reason able to offer specialty items that big box stores don’t have available. As an example, Amazon.com which is best known as an online retailer of Books, also has DVD’s and VHS videos.
You can even buy magazine subscriptions for print media magazines. In addition to their own selections they offer used books sold by individuals who go through Amazon to find customers, expanding their selection a thousandfold. But, if you don’t think you can find enough books at Amazon or Barnes and Noble, or even Half.com, the used book division of online mall giant eBay, see if your online mall includes a link to one of the specialty Ebook publishers. Many of these small boutique companies offer ebooks and print on demand Books, that you won’t find any where else. Another great thing about online shopping malls are the specialty services you can find. Some are so specialized that brick and mortar stores rarely have them. Take resume services for example.
The web contains hundreds of resume writing services, many of them quite good. Many of these companies also offer email blasts of your resume to job postings, or to corporate recruiters. Others include provisions to post your resume to dozens and dozens of online job banks. An online mall can offer these services because it has no space limitations and less over head than the brick and mortar equivalent. A company doesn’t have to worry about leasing space, they simply form an affiliate relationship with the online shopping mall which serves as a home page and portal to link consumers with the businesses they wish to work with. Online shopping malls provide great convenience, more selection than we are used to, and can deliver goods to you quickly.
Many people do all of their shopping through online malls, and many others do a large percentage of their shopping this way, changing the buying habits of thousands. In the future online shopping malls will change the buying patterns of millions, and then billions, saving them time and money, and enhancing selection opportunities.
