First of all, hats off to Veronica Roth, the author, for coming up with such a spellbinding and stupendous literary work, Divergent Trilogy. Such type of a novel series cannot be expected from a young debutant. I recently finished reading the whole series and was fascinated by its fantasy charm until the very last word. The plot fits together as the story goes on and on and the reader starts falling in love with the characters. In other words, a splendid fantasy world is slowly and gradually constructed around the reader.
The film adaptation of its first installment was recently released which I watched with my friends. Although I enjoyed the movie, yet it was in no way of matching quality with the book. The best thing about the novelists is that they create a fantasy environment through some magical words and our interest in reading develops more and more with every single sentence.
Divergent series is New York Times bestseller in “Young Adult Dystopian” fiction series that includes Divergent, Insurgent, and Allegiant. The trilogy tells the story of a dystopian society. All the inhabitants of post-apocalyptic Chicago are divided into five cliques according to their respective personalities: Abnegation for the selfless, Amity for the peaceful, Candor for the truthful, Dauntless for the brave, and Erudite for the intelligent. The story mostly revolves around 16-year-old Beatrice Prior.
There happens to be a choosing ceremony once in a year in which all sixteen-year-olds must select the clique to which rest of their lives must be devoted. Beatrice unexpectedly joins Dauntless and leaves her family behind. She also came to know about a dangerous trait she has, Divergence and at the same time renames herself "Tris". The world saw tremendous anarchy and chaos. However, right after initiation when Erudite takes control of Dauntless and wages a war on the other cliques resulting in near annihilation of Abnegation.
In the second book of the series, Tris survived a ferocious attack on her former home and family. Surrounded by both grief and guilt, she becomes ever more impetuous as she struggles to accept her new future. The big screen has recently witnessed the second part of this trilogy with Insurgent. The movie has received love by large number of audience around the globe, but no more than the novel itself. People can watch it by ordering the Blu-ray Players and watching video on demand or instant video. In the last installment, Tris desperately wants to unveil the truth about her world. However, for that she must be stronger than ever as there are stunning choices that lie ahead.
